Dividend Calculator corrected

- Corrected the tax FAQ: for individuals the tax withheld on a dividend is the final tax, not added to other income at slab rates.
- You can now enter the dividend in rupees per share instead of a yield. The monthly figure is labelled as an average, since most companies pay quarterly, twice a year or yearly.
- Removed the claim that a 3-5% yield is good, the DRIP answer (PSX companies rarely offer one) and a link to stock pages that no longer exist.
- Formulas on every calculator now keep one formula per line.
Footer links to the newest stock comparisons

Learning site: sector guides rebuilt, empty data pages removed
- SeekhKar runs as a learning site without live prices. The sectors page now explains how each sector earns money, its risks, the numbers to check and the valuation methods that suit it; each sector guide adds an "at a glance" panel, a step-by-step "how to value" section and its full company list.
- Removed pages that could only show "not available" without a licensed price feed: stock pages, the stock and valuation screeners, the dividend calendar, announcements, the watchlist and its alerts, and stock comparison. Their addresses redirect to the matching guide or tool.
- Removed the currency converter, which used fixed, undated exchange rates, and the Stock Analysis menu. The archived company case studies remain on the blog.
Learning-first content review and search fixes
- Merged 14 overlapping blog posts into the seven learning guides, which gain sections on where valuation inputs come from, terminal value with a worked DCF, dividend yield and how dividends are paid, trailing versus forward P/E, business quality checks and value traps. The old addresses redirect to the matching guide.
- The seven company stock analyses and the bank comparison are now archived case studies, dated to mid-2026. Buy and sell verdicts, analyst targets and "who should buy" sections were removed, and these pages are no longer offered to search engines.
- Corrected the CDC account guide: there is no general capital gains tax exemption for holding shares two years, PSX settles trades on T+1 since February 2026, and broker rankings and stock suggestions were removed. Tax rates now point to NCCPL and FBR.
- Corrected the halal stocks guide: the six KMI screening tests as published by PSX, the 2026 debt-ratio change, and removed references to calculators SeekhKar does not offer. Company picks were removed.
- Fixed the debt payoff calculator: the extra payment was applied to every debt at once, so avalanche and snowball always gave the same answer. It now pays minimums on all debts and puts the extra on one target debt at a time.
- Thirteen calculators gain worked examples, guidance on reading the result and common mistakes. Every example figure is checked against the calculator in automated tests.
- Removed the "Guides" page, which listed handbooks that did not exist, and the home page's "25+ calculators" figure, which now counts the actual calculators.
- Unknown addresses now return a proper "page not found" response, security and caching headers are applied, pages no longer jump while loading, and blog images are served in smaller, modern formats.
Portfolio tracker, watchlist alerts and offline app

- SeekhKar can be installed as an app and keeps working offline with the last data it showed.
Dividend calendar, announcements, Shariah filter and screener
- New dividend calendar, announcements feed and stock screener with shareable links. They fill in once a licensed data source is connected.

- Stock pages add DDM and P/E-relative values, a composite margin of safety, payout history and announcements.
- Take Home Pay calculator adds a freelancer (export) mode using the section 154A final tax.
Credibility fixes: dated data, traceable valuations, FY 2026-27 tax
- Removed every hand-typed stock price, ratio and intrinsic value. They had no date or source, 85 stocks showed zero placeholders, and the displayed "Graham Number" values did not match the Graham formula (for example OGDC showed Rs. 195 where its own inputs gave Rs. 183.64).
- Stock pages now compute every figure from dated, sourced inputs and show the calculation in a "How this was calculated" block.
- Stocks whose price is missing, zero or more than 3 trading days old are hidden from lists, and their pages show "Data temporarily unavailable".
- Replaced contradictory "live", "5-minute delay" and "illustrative" wording with one data statement used everywhere.
- Removed the unbacked "Join 50,000+ investors" line and a newsletter form that did not send your address anywhere.
- Income Tax, Salary and Take Home Pay calculators updated to the FY 2026-27 slabs in the Finance Act 2026, with FY 2025-26 still selectable. The previous version used FY 2024-25 slabs and a standard deduction that does not exist in the law.
- New pages: Methodology, Data Sources and Terms, author pages and this Update Log.
Search and trust improvements
