Comparisons

The best scorer is a summary of the numbers in each comparison, not a recommendation to buy or sell. A high yield can come from a one-off dividend, so read the comparison before relying on it.

How We Compare Stocks

  1. Each company's latest results filed with the PSX, with earnings over the last twelve months so every company covers the same period.
  2. PSX closing prices on a stated date, shown at the top of each comparison.
  3. P/E, price to book, ROE, dividend yield (also after the 15% tax filers pay), profit growth and, where it matters, debt and receivables.
  4. A scorecard that ranks the companies on each measure with equal weight. The lowest total scores best. It is a summary of the numbers, not a recommendation to buy or sell.

The methodology page explains each ratio, and the dividend calculator works out your income after tax.
